We, the old boys of the Royal College Colombo, 82 Group, after leaving our great school went on our own directions. Members of our group migrated to all parts of the world. Some settled in Sri Lanka and the others settled in different parts of the world. We, who migrated to Australia, settled down in different States depending on their preferences. However, though we are far apart geographically within the country, we try to meet whenever possible to maintain our childhood relationships and links. All in all, the Australian batch of 82 Group is very active than most of the other groups around the world.

Very frequently we gather as a group and enjoy our company and spend a lot of time talking about school days and the things what we did as kids. When our mates come from abroad, we used to send out a message to all who live in the State and organise a function to meet and celebrate. In majority of these occasions, Lal Jayasinghe and Chulan Chandradasa took a crucial role in organising these functions. Further, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we as a group initiated a fundraiser to help our countrymen, which was a very successful event.

After considering all these activities and the events, we as a group decided to launch a website where we can share our ideas, photos, college news, etc. That is how this website came into being.

During the COVID period as Victorians, we were unable to travel and meet up with our friends and family. We were confined to our homes and could not meet anybody. This was a significant pressure to most of our active colleagues and to overcome the situation we used the available technology of the day and had ZOOM calls to socialise.  The image above shows one of our ZOOM call events that we had recently to mix with each other.
